The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 Is Coming Tomorrow! | Let’s Talk About It! 😅

The Ramparts of Ice S2 PV
The Ramparts of Ice

Well, today is September 30th, the last day of the month.

And honestly, I didn’t even have to think too much about what I wanted to cover today.

Why?

Because I’ve been thinking about covering this anime for a very long time, but I just wasn’t able to get around to it because I was busy with other upcoming updates and everything else.

But today, I finally got the chance.

So…

Why not cover it? 😅

I know I’m a little late, and Season 2 is literally coming tomorrow, but I still wanted to talk about it.

And Yep…

I’m talking about The Ramparts of Ice.

To be honest, I’m personally really excited for Season 2.

And there’s also something kind of interesting about this release.

It’s actually pretty rare to see an anime get two seasons within the same year, especially with the first season ending only a few months before the second season begins.

The first season ended in July 2026, and now Season 2 is officially premiering on October 1, 2026, in Japan.

Netflix will release the new season worldwide on October 1 PT and October 2 JST, with new episodes arriving weekly.

So yeah…

Season 2 is basically here. 👀

And if you don’t know about this anime yet, then don’t worry.

We’re going to talk about what The Ramparts of Ice is all about, where Season 1 left us, and what we can expect from Season 2.

So…

Let’s talk about it. 👀

What Is The Ramparts of Ice About?

What Is The Ramparts of Ice All About?

Well, if you haven’t watched the first season yet, then I really suggest you go and watch it.

And if you’ve already watched it, then this can be a quick reminder or a little refresh of your memory.

And if you haven’t…

Go watch it. 😅

By the way, I’m going to give you as little information as I can without getting into spoilers.

The Ramparts of Ice And You and I Are Polar Opposites
The Ramparts of Ice And You and I Are Polar Opposites

So, let’s start with the basics.

First of all, The Ramparts of Ice is based on a manga written and illustrated by Kocha Agasawa.

And yeah, it’s the same author behind You and I Are Polar Opposites.

Both of these are romance series that have been getting a lot of attention recently, and honestly, I can understand why.

I haven’t watched You and I Are Polar Opposites myself, so I can’t really compare the two.

But I can tell you this:

I really like The Ramparts of Ice.

The story follows Koyuki Hikawa, a high-school girl who has trouble connecting with other people and tends to keep an emotional distance from those around her because of her past.

The one person she’s particularly close to is her childhood friend, Miki Azumi, who has more of a tomboyish personality.

But then Minato Amamiya enters Koyuki’s life.

And, well…

Minato isn’t exactly the kind of person who understands personal space. 😂

He starts getting closer to Koyuki, while another important character, Yota Hino, also becomes part of the group.

Eventually, we have these four characters:

Koyuki.

Miki.

Minato.

Yota.

And that’s basically where the story starts.

It’s a story about high-school life, growing up, misunderstandings, romance, and learning to understand your own emotions.

And honestly, that’s one of the things I really like about this series.

Every character is experiencing these emotions for the first time and slowly learning what those feelings actually mean.

It’s more about the relationships between these four characters, the misunderstandings that happen between them, and the way they slowly start changing as they spend more time together.

And honestly…

That’s one of the things that makes me love this series.

You know, there are stories like My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU , and other series where you get that feeling of:

“Yeah… this kind of thing could actually happen in real life.”

And that’s the kind of story I personally enjoy.

It’s not just about romance.

It’s about growing up, understanding other people, understanding yourself, and figuring out what you’re actually feeling.

So if you’re looking for something with romance, growing up, and characters trying to understand life and their emotions, then I would definitely suggest giving The Ramparts of Ice a try.

And that’s basically what I can tell you without getting into the important stuff.

Because…

Why am I so excited for Season 2?

Well, the answer is actually pretty simple.

Season 1 ended at a very interesting point. 👀

By the end of the first season, Koyuki and Minato’s relationship had developed significantly, while Yota finally confessed his feelings to Miki.

And Miki…

Well…

She rejected him. 😅

My team member: “Bro, I think this is a spoiler, right?”

Me: 😅

You didn’t hear anything.

When Is The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 Coming Out?

Well, this part is very simple.

The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 is coming tomorrow.

Yep.

It’s scheduled to begin airing in Japan on October 1, 2026.

And Netflix will be releasing the new season worldwide on October 1 PT / October 2 JST, with new episodes arriving weekly.

Now…

This is where the time zones can get a little confusing. 😅

Because depending on where you live, you might actually get the episode on a different date.

So, to make things easier, here’s a quick list:

Region Netflix release
🇺🇸 US — Pacific Time October 1, 12:00 AM PT
🇺🇸 US — Eastern Time October 1, 3:00 AM ET
🇬🇧 UK October 1, 8:00 AM BST
🇮🇳 India October 1, 12:30 PM IST
🇷🇺 Moscow, Russia October 1, 10:00 AM MSK
🇯🇵 Japan October 2, 12:00 AM JST on Netflix

The important thing to remember is that Netflix’s official announcement uses October 1 PT / October 2 JST, so the date can look different depending on your location.

And honestly, even I had to check the time zone twice. 😂

For me, October 1 is already here, while some of you reading this article might still be seeing September 30 when you’re reading it.

So if I missed mentioning your country’s exact time, I apologize for that.

But in simple terms…

Season 2 is here tomorrow. 👀

And now that we know when it’s coming, let’s talk about what we can actually expect from Season 2.

The Ramparts of Ice
The Ramparts of Ice

What Can We Expect From Season 2?

Well, let’s talk about what we can expect from Season 2 and what I personally expect from it.

First of all, I’m not going to spoil anything from the manga.

Why?

Because, to be honest, I haven’t read the manga myself.

And that’s actually intentional.

I don’t want to spoil myself before watching the upcoming season, so I decided not to read ahead.

So, let’s just talk about what we already know from the end of Season 1 and what we can expect going forward.

There are actually quite a few things happening.

We already know from Netflix’s official description that Koyuki and Minato are developing feelings for each other that go beyond friendship. And yeah, we already saw that development happening throughout Season 1.

But then…

We also got another character.

And, to be honest, she’s getting quite a lot of hate from people. 😅

The Ramparts of Ice
The Ramparts of Ice Momoka Kuriki

I’m talking about Momoka Kuriki.

And honestly…

Inside my heart, I’m still thinking:

“Okay, she’s cute and everything… but does she really deserve all that hate?” 😂

I don’t know.

That’s something I’ll leave for you guys to decide.

But anyway…

Back to the point.

We also saw Yota confess his long-held feelings to Miki.

And Miki rejected him.

But at the same time, Miki herself is still confused about what she’s actually feeling.

And honestly…

That’s what makes this even more interesting.

Because this isn’t just about hiding feelings anymore.

One side has already reached the point where those feelings have been confessed, while the other side is still trying to understand exactly what those feelings mean.

And on the other hand, Koyuki and Minato both know that they have feelings for each other, but they’re still scared of actually saying it.

And that’s probably one of the things I really want to see in Season 2.

Because Koyuki is the kind of person who doesn’t easily open up to other people.

But now…

She’s actually starting to feel something for someone.

And that’s a really big change for her.

So, for me, Season 2 isn’t just about continuing the romance.

It’s also about seeing how these characters grow, how their relationships change, and whether the four of them become even closer…

Or whether some of them slowly start to drift apart.

And honestly, I’m really hoping that Miki and Yota eventually get a good ending together.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Season 2 brings us. 👀

My Personal Thoughts

Well…

Now I’m kind of confused. 😅

You know, sometimes I end up revealing way too many of my personal thoughts throughout the article.

I literally did it in the opening.

Then I did it again in another section.

And now I’m doing it here too.

But still…

I need to write this part. 😂

So, what do I actually think about this series?

Well…

I personally like it.

I honestly didn’t expect that I was going to like it this much when I started watching it.

But I completed it.

And I’ve already told you guys this before, but as a critic, we have a habit of watching a lot of anime.

Sometimes we don’t get the chance to cover everything we planned to cover.

Sometimes we watch something but never end up writing about it at all.

Why?

Because sometimes…

It just gets too much. 😅

But there are very few series that I actually look forward to watching as a fan, and not just as a critic.

I love anime.

I enjoy watching anime and everything.

But at the end of the day, it’s also my job.

And The Ramparts of Ice was one of those series that I personally waited for every single week.

I wasn’t just watching it because I needed to cover it.

I actually wanted to watch it.

And yeah…

I liked it.

Why am I saying that?

Well, recently, we’ve been seeing all kinds of anime.

We’ve had some very strange concepts, supernatural stories, unusual power structures, different kinds of high-school romance, and a lot of other things.

And honestly, when you look at all of that…

A simple high-school romance or a normal coming-of-age story feels surprisingly rare.

Not necessarily because those stories don’t exist.

But because it’s becoming harder to see a simple story like that get the same kind of attention and hype.

And that’s something I’ve been thinking about.

Because The Ramparts of Ice doesn’t need some extremely complicated premise to make me interested.

The Ramparts of Ice
The Ramparts of Ice

That’s actually one of the things I like about it.

It’s simple.

It’s understandable.

And the characters are just trying to figure out their feelings, their relationships, and what it means to grow up.

And maybe that’s exactly why I like it.

If you remember, I’ve talked before about how I like romance and comedy stories, especially when they actually let the characters grow.

It’s surprisingly rare to see characters simply growing up, developing relationships, making mistakes, and trying to understand what they’re feeling.

And when you think about it…

That’s kind of rare on its own.

Look at Horimiya, for example.

A lot of people love it because it’s not just about romance.

It’s also about growing up, understanding what it means to be in a relationship, and watching two people actually develop together.

And maybe that’s one of the reasons stories like that have such a strong place among romance anime.

Now, I know…

I’m a critic.

I can give my opinion about an anime, but that doesn’t mean you have to agree with me.

You don’t have to feel the same way I do about this series.

And honestly, that’s completely fine.

But as a writer myself, I can also say something else.

Stories like this are probably much harder to write than they look.

Because making something simple and understandable without making it boring isn’t easy.

And that’s probably one of the biggest reasons why I like The Ramparts of Ice.

It’s simple.

It’s understandable.

And somehow, it makes me want to keep watching.

So yeah…

I guess I said what I needed to say.

Actually…

I probably said more than I needed to. 😂

But that’s my personal opinion.

You can agree with me.

You can disagree with me.

You can even criticize my opinion in the comments.

I’m completely open to hearing what you guys think.

So yeah…

I guess that’s what I can say about The Ramparts of Ice.

And I guess…

That’s it for today.

Stay Updated

So, I guess that’s it for today.

I didn’t cover a few things this time, like the visuals, promotional videos, promotional visuals, and, to be honest, who was behind the anime.

Why?

Because I think covering those things right now would be a waste. Most of the information is basically the same, and promotional visuals are better to cover when they’re actually released and when there’s something new to talk about.

As for the people behind the anime, most of the staff are the same as Season 1 anyway.

So yeah, that’s why I decided not to go too deep into those things this time.

And honestly, I’m hoping we get some good music this time as well. Last time, I personally saved the music to my YouTube and still listen to it. 😅

So yeah, I’m hoping we get something just as good again.

If you enjoyed this anime update, don’t forget to share it with your fellow anime fans or your friends who are waiting for Season 2 or who just want to watch a good, likable romance.

It’s more of a slice-of-life and romance story, but you can definitely suggest it to them if that’s the kind of anime they enjoy.
