Hello, anime enthusiasts! Well, I’m back as promised. First of all, my apologies for keeping you waiting—I told you I’d give my thoughts on Seirei Gensouki Season 2. As promised, I’m here, and now I’m going to dive deep into Episode 1 of Seirei Gensouki Season 2, titled “When I Met You in This World, You Were.“
Before we dive into this blog, if you haven’t watched Episode 1 yet, I suggest you leave this page, as it contains many spoilers.
As I mentioned in my last blog about my feelings toward Ayase Miharu and my hopes for this anime, if you haven’t read that post yet and want to catch up, click here to check it out. But for now, let’s continue with this blog.
How Does the First Episode Start?
The story begins with a flashback, revisiting the promise made in their previous life. In this part, we get a glimpse into past life scenes involving Rio, or rather Haruto, along with Ayase Miharu, Sendo Takahisa, and others. It also reveals how they were transported to this other world.
As the trailer and the ending of Season 1 revealed, six colorful lights glowed in the sky—essentially six pillars of light. This was the moment when Ayase Miharu and the others were summoned as heroes to this world. Meanwhile, Aishia requests Rio to save them, as she is determined to protect Miharu. However, Rio is unaware that Ayase Miharu is one of those summoned to this realm.
Why are you here, and what are you doing in this world?
We know that Rio is already powerful and could easily save them. When he hears someone shouting for help in Japanese, he immediately comes to their aid, as he is the only one who can speak and understand the language. When Rio and Ayase Miharu meet face to face, he is shocked and thinks to himself, “Why are you here, and what are you doing in this world?” Rio is confused about their presence in this realm.
When they meet, Ayase Miharu asks Rio his name. Rio introduces himself as Haruto and mentions that he doesn’t have a last name. Upon hearing his name, both Ayase Miharu and Aki have a moment of realization, but she stops herself from expressing that she thinks Rio is actually Haruto.
What Are You Saying? Language Barrier
While we’ve covered many topics, it’s time to discuss language. In this episode, there are two languages: Japanese and the language of this world. As I mentioned earlier, Rio was reborn in this world and possesses memories from his previous life, allowing him to understand both languages. However Celia Claire doesn’t know the Japanese language. To bridge the gap, Aishia uses her magic to translate between Celia and the others.
What Is the Legend of the World?
Ayase Miharu asks Rio why they were all summoned to this world and if there’s any way to return to their original world. Rio admits that he doesn’t know the answer. Then, Celia suggests that it might be because of the legend. Rio explains the legend to them.
The legend of the world speaks of the “Six Wise Gods.” It tells that a thousand years after the Divine-Demon War, six sacred stones will emanate different colors, and pillars of their light will soar into the heavens. Heroes clad in powerful divine raiment will return from outside of Strahl, and in the name of the Six Wise Gods, they shall lead all of humanity.
What Are My Thoughts on the Opening and Ending?
I love both the opening and ending songs; they’re both fantastic! However, I especially adore the ending song, “Harumachiuta.”
My Personal Favorite Scene ?
My favorite parts of Episode 1 are when we see Celia Claire arrive with Aishia and rush to Rio, asking, “Are you okay, Rio?” I also loved seeing Celia Claire in her wedding dress; she looked so cute!
One of my favorite moments was when Celia Claire got jealous when Aishia tell to Rio that they should go to sleep. Celia tried to stop Aishia while Rio attempted to clarify the misunderstanding, but Aishia kept pushing him. Celia saying that Rio hadn’t had his bath yet. In that moment, Rio thought to himself that’s what she upset about? that was the best scene in the episode for me, at least!
Lastly, I was thrilled to see that Celia remains the main girl—at least for the first episode! If you’re curious about what I’m referring to, be sure to check out my previous blog on this anime by clicking here!
Well, I hope you liked this blog! This is my first episode review, and to be honest, I know it’s not as good as others, but I’ll still try my best for the next one. I hope you enjoyed this episode review!
