Hey… we meet again.
Well, after a long wait, The Detective Is Already Dead Season 2 is finally moving forward… but not without a delay.
Earlier, the sequel was expected to arrive sooner, around April, and many fans were already looking forward to its return.
But somehow, it has now been officially confirmed that Season 2 will air in October 2026 instead.
We still don’t have a proper exact date yet, but it is officially confirmed—and this time, it looks like there won’t be another delay.
Well, if you don’t know much about the story or missed the earlier update, I suggest you check it out—I already covered that in my previous blog, so you can check it out by clicking here.

But why did it get delayed in the first place?
Well, according to the official update, it needed more time due to production circumstances at ENGI.
Now, in simple words, “production circumstances” basically means:
The anime wasn’t fully ready yet.
This can include things like:
- animation not being finished
- quality not meeting expectations
- schedule issues inside the studio
So instead of rushing it, they decided to take more time to complete it properly.

A Delay… But Also a Confirmation
Well, while delays can be disappointing, there’s also something important to take from this update.
The fact that Season 2 now has an officially confirmed release window means the project is moving steadily forward. It’s not just an announcement anymore—it’s something real that’s getting closer step by step.
And sometimes, waiting a little longer just means the story is being given the time it deserves.
Well, we’ve already been waiting since September 19, 2021, so what’s a little more time? Because this time, even though it got delayed, they also released the poster and the teaser.
And being honest… I really can’t wait.
The Teaser Raises More Questions Than Answers
What really makes this update interesting is that, because of the delay, they also released a new teaser—and honestly, it just makes us even more eager to see what’s coming.
Well, you can watch the teaser above this section by clicking that video.
From what I saw… something felt off. And after watching it completely, one thing came to my mind—it’s not just something… it feels like everything is off now.
There are moments that don’t clearly explain what’s happening, and instead of giving answers, they raise even more questions. And honestly, that’s exactly what makes it exciting.
If you’ve been following the story, you already know why this matters—and what I’m talking about, right?
Because even though she’s gone… it doesn’t feel like her story is over yet. And that’s how the story is supposed to continue.
But around the 25-second mark of the teaser… there was only one thing in my mind—
“What the f…? How is she there? Is that really what I’m seeing?”

Is She Even Real?
Well… yeah, the teaser was only around 52 seconds, and being honest, I don’t even know what’s happening anymore.
I get it—I said in my previous blog that I wanted her back. But when I actually saw her at that 25-second moment in the teaser… there was only one question in my mind:
What am I even seeing right now?
It didn’t feel like before. Instead of Nagisa Natsunagi, seeing her there with them… Siesta was sitting with Kimihiko and the others, and it just felt unreal to me. Like something isn’t right.
Well, being honest, I wanted her to come back—I really did. I like her character so much… I even simp for her. But still… this didn’t feel normal.
And honestly, that made me more curious than anything.
I don’t know about you guys, but it gave me real goosebumps.
And being honest, there are so many questions coming to my mind right now:
- Is she really her?
- Or just someone who looks like her?
- And why was she wearing that maid outfit?

The Poster Says a Lot Without Saying Anything
The newly revealed visual also adds to that feeling.
Sometimes a single image can say more than a full explanation—and this is one of those moments.
The atmosphere, the way Siesta is presented, and the overall tone of the visual all suggest that Season 2 won’t just continue the story—it might change how we see it.
What Can We Expect From Season 2?
Without going into spoilers—honestly, even I don’t fully know myself since I haven’t been able to get the English edition—the story will most likely continue in a way that expands on what we already know, while also introducing new layers to the mystery.
There are still many unanswered questions that I have… and maybe you guys feel the same.
And this next part of the story might finally start answering them—or just make things even more complicated for all of us.
But one thing is for sure… it’s going to be worth the wait.

A Personal Thought
I haven’t read the light novel yet, so everything I’m feeling right now comes purely from what we’ve seen so far—just like you guys.
And honestly… that makes it even more interesting.
Because going into Season 2 without knowing what’s coming next makes every teaser, every visual, and every update feel more meaningful.
Final Thoughts
Yes, the delay might feel frustrating—I feel the same as you.
But at the same time, some stories aren’t meant to be rushed.
If anything, this only builds more anticipation for what’s coming next.
Because even now… it still feels like the story isn’t over yet.
