Hello again!

Well, another day, another anime update. 😅

And today, we’re getting something very interesting.

Why?

Because recently, we’ve been getting more and more anime adaptation announcements, and yesterday, we got another one.

And this time, we’re getting an adaptation of Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret.

Yep, I’m talking about Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret.

The manga has officially been announced for a TV anime adaptation, with the announcement made yesterday, September 28, 2026, alongside the first teaser visual and some additional information about the upcoming anime. The anime is currently scheduled to premiere in April 2027.

So, if you guys don’t know exactly what Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret is all about, then let’s start with that first.

Let’s talk about it. 👀

What Is Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret? What Is It All About?

Well, Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret is based on a manga that originally started in 2022, so by the time the anime arrives, there will already be quite a bit of material available.

The manga currently has nine volumes in Japan, with the ninth volume released in July 2026. The English edition is being published by Yen Press, with four English volumes currently available.

And yeah, that’s actually one of the reasons why I knew about this manga in the first place…

Because I have read it. 😅

I haven’t read everything that’s currently available, but I’ve read some chapters, so I’m not completely new to the story.

So, let’s talk about what Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret is actually about.

The manga was serialized on Young Animal Web starting in 2022, and it’s still ongoing as of 2026.

And honestly, the basic premise is actually pretty interesting.

Our main character is Hizashi Hiruno, a first-year high school student who is hardworking and pretty serious.

Well…

Things don’t exactly go according to plan for him.

After making a mistake on his first academic proficiency test, Hizashi ends up getting a terrible score and is sent to remedial lessons.

And that’s where he meets Rei Kuromiya.

Now, Rei isn’t exactly an ordinary classmate.

She’s extremely popular, academically gifted, and she’s also an idol.

Basically, she’s the kind of person that everyone at school looks up to.

But there’s another side of Rei that most people don’t know about.

And, of course…

She has a secret.

Somehow, Hizashi ends up discovering that secret.

And from there, the two start spending more time together, especially after school, and their relationship gradually begins to develop.

And that’s basically where the story starts.

It’s a high-school romance story, but the whole secret surrounding Rei is one of the things that makes the setup interesting.

And what exactly is that secret?

Well…

I’m not going to tell you. 😂

If you want to know, you’ll have to wait for the anime—or, if you don’t want to wait until 2027, you can always read the manga.

I’ve already told you the basic setup, and I’m trying to keep this article spoiler-free, so I’m not going to reveal the important part here.

So yeah…

That’s basically what Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret is all about.

Now…

When is the anime actually coming out? 👀

Well, this is one of the things I think we should talk about.

And to be honest, it’s kind of refreshing when an anime adaptation is announced alongside a release window.

Why?

Because we’ve seen this happen many times before.

An anime gets announced…

And then we wait.

And wait.

And sometimes we wait for years just to get a release window or another major update. 😂

But at least we’re lucky with this one.

The TV anime adaptation of Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret was officially announced on September 28, 2026, and we already have a release window.

April 2027.

Yep.

That’s all we currently have.

There isn’t an exact day yet, and we don’t have a more specific premiere date.

And honestly, I’m hoping they don’t postpone it. 😅

But for now, April 2027 is what we have.

And I know some of you might already be asking:

“Okay, but what exact day in April?”

Well…

We don’t know yet.

And this is something I’ve said in multiple blogs before:

Don’t expect everything in the first announcement.

The anime was literally just announced.

You can’t expect the studio to give us every single piece of information in one day.

Sometimes we need to wait for the next announcement, the next visual, the next PV, or another update before we get more details.

So for now…

April 2027 is enough. 😅

At least we know that we’re getting the anime next year.

And actually, there is something else coming up that could give us more information about the anime.

There is an upcoming event called StarryCube ANIME FES 2026, which will take place on November 7, 2026, at Waseda University in Tokyo.

And Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret is one of the anime featured at the event. Some members of the anime’s cast are also scheduled to appear.

So, there is a chance that we could get some new information about the anime during the event.

But, of course… We can’t say that for sure. 😅

But for now, we wait.

What Else Do We Know?

Well, we don’t have a huge amount of information yet.

We do know the studio behind the anime is Gekkō, which is handling the animation production.

Gekkō has previously worked on anime such as TenPuru, Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again, A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero, and Tune In to the Midnight Heart. The studio has also worked on The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest and I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand.

Yep, they’re the ones behind many anime, and you might already know some of them.

And yeah, I still don’t understand why new anime and light novels have such big, huge titles nowadays. 😅

Well, that’s aside.

And we also got our first visual for the anime.

And honestly…

It looks really good. 👀

From the first visual alone, the anime already has a really nice look to it, and I’m actually looking forward to seeing how the characters will look once we get more footage.

But for now, that’s really all we have.

One visual. 😅

So there’s not really much to break down yet.

We’ll probably have a lot more to talk about once we get a proper PV or more promotional material.

My Personal Thoughts

Well, let’s come to the point of my personal thoughts.

What should I say?

This is a very unique premise.

I mean… maybe not exactly unique, but it’s definitely the kind of high-school rom-com that you might enjoy if you’re looking for something a little more light-hearted.

Okay, why am I saying that?

Well, I haven’t read that much of the story myself. I’ve only read some of the starting chapters and got a feeling for what kind of story it is. I’m still planning to continue reading it, but it’s currently on my list, and I’m reading it very slowly. 😅

From what I’ve read so far, though, I can say that it’s not exactly the same kind of story as The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, and it’s definitely not going to be something like I Want to End This Love Game.

It’s its own kind of story.

It’s a good story, and you might actually like it.

It’s not too sweet, and it’s not going to be too light-hearted either. I would say it’s somewhere in the middle.

You get the romance, but you also have the school setting, slice-of-life elements, and everything that comes with it. So we’re going to see how the characters and their relationship develop throughout the story.

And honestly, I’m not going to lie…

I was also thinking about something else.

Why the hell are we getting so many romantic anime adaptations right now? 😂

And most of them are high-school romance too!

I mean, literally…

I’ve covered around three or four of them in just the last few days! 😂

My team member: “Well, you are getting out of topic.”

Oh…

Where was I?

Oh, sorry.

Back to the topic. 😅

So yeah, I think this is a pretty good story, and I would suggest giving the manga a try.

If you can, just read a few chapters from the beginning. If you like what you see, then you can continue reading it.

Or, if you’re not sure whether you want to read it, you can at least get an idea of whether this is something you’d want to watch when the anime comes out.

If you like watching good romance with school and slice-of-life elements, then I think you might enjoy it.

It’s not purely a romance story or anything like that. There’s a lot more going on around the characters, and that’s something I’m interested in seeing once the anime actually starts.

And personally, I also like seeing stories like this get anime adaptations.

Why?

Because not every story that gets an adaptation has to already be some massive, top-class series with a huge audience.

Some stories already have a very large audience and naturally have a high chance of getting an adaptation.

But there are also other stories that don’t have that same level of popularity or a massive audience behind them.

And sometimes, those stories don’t even get the opportunity.

That’s why I like seeing an adaptation give a story another chance to reach a much wider audience.

And honestly, I’m very happy that Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret is getting that opportunity.

To be honest, I was looking forward to watching it.

And that’s probably the best way I can describe my personal reaction to this announcement.

Well…

Today’s blog is going to be a little shorter than usual. 😅

I hope you guys enjoyed it anyway.

And I guess…
