Another day, another anime update!

Well, hello again, everyone! I have some great news for you, especially for those who thought Senku Ishigami’s scientific journey had finally come to an end.

Well, guess what? It isn’t over just yet!

Yep, so get excited!

The journey of Senku and the Kingdom of Science isn’t over just yet!

The Dr. STONE anime concluded on June 25, 2026, bringing the main story to its conclusion. Naturally, many fans thought it was finally time to say goodbye to Senku and his scientific adventures.

But it looks like the creators have something else in store for us!

On October 10, 2026, a new anime project titled Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING was officially announced at STONE FES.2026.

And no, this isn’t another rumour circulating among fans! The official anime website has confirmed that the project is in production, and an announcement video has also been released. So yes, we’re getting another anime project featuring Senku! 😆

Now, you might be wondering: Is this going to be another season, a movie, or something completely different? And what exactly is left to explore now that the main story has concluded?

Well, that’s precisely what we’re going to discuss in today’s blog. So, let’s get started!

A New Anime Project Has Officially Been Announced By The Dr. STONE Franchise!

Well, the announcement of Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING arrived on October 10, 2026. And yes, I know we’re a little late covering this one! 😅 But during STONE FES.2026, an event celebrating the franchise, the team officially revealed the new project.

According to the official announcement, the new anime will continue the story beyond the conclusion of the main television series. But here’s the interesting part: this isn’t simply another continuation created without any connection to the original manga. Instead, the project will adapt the special TERRAFORMING story included in Volume 27 of the original Dr. STONE manga.

Now, if you’ve watched the anime, you might be wondering how there’s still more story left after the main conclusion.

Well, here’s the thing! Although the main story reached its conclusion, the manga also included additional material set after those events. Volume 27 contains this extra story, giving fans another glimpse into Senku and his companions’ scientific adventures beyond the main ending.

And now, that additional story is getting an anime adaptation!

The announcement also came with a promotional video featuring newly recorded dialogue from Senku himself. The footage revisits some of the scientific creations and technological advancements achieved by Senku and his friends before introducing the new TERRAFORMING title.

So, now we know when the project was announced and which part of the manga it will adapt. But what exactly is included in Volume 27, and what story will Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING explore?

Volume 27: What Will Be in Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING?

Well, if you’ve been following Dr. STONE from the beginning, you already know about Senku Ishigami’s incredible journey. From waking up in a world where humanity has been turned to stone to uncovering the mystery behind the petrification, we’ve watched him rebuild civilization from scratch using his scientific knowledge.

Along the way, we’ve also seen his friends achieve their own dreams, including the marriage of Taiju Oki and Yuzuriha Ogawa. But what happens after the main story concludes? Is there anything left for Senku and the Kingdom of Science to accomplish?

Well, as we saw toward the end of the story, Senku had another ambitious goal in mind: building a time machine! And honestly, considering everything this guy has already accomplished, would anyone be surprised if he actually managed to pull it off? 😂

But let’s take a closer look at the manga material behind the new anime project.

The main Dr. STONE manga story concludes in Volume 26, while Volume 27 contains additional stories set beyond that ending. This final extra volume contains four chapters in total:

• TERRAFORMING
• 4D SCIENCE — 1D: FUTURE MESSAGE
• 4D SCIENCE — 2D: FUTURE ROAD MAP
• 4D SCIENCE — 3D: FUTURE SCIENCE

Now, you might be wondering what exactly 4D SCIENCE means. Don’t worry; those aren’t multiple chapters hidden inside each part! They’re three separate chapters that explore Senku and his companions’ efforts to develop a time machine.

And here’s where things get interesting!

The official announcement confirms that Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING will adapt the additional TERRAFORMING story from Volume 27. However, it hasn’t confirmed whether the anime project will also adapt all three 4D SCIENCE chapters.

So, will we get to see the time-machine storylines animated as well? It’s certainly something fans can hope for, but we’ll have to wait for more information before treating it as confirmed.

There’s also another interesting possibility. Like many anime adaptations, the project could potentially include additional scenes or expanded moments. However, no original anime-exclusive material has been confirmed so far.

Unfortunately, I haven’t read these additional chapters myself, so I don’t want to pretend I know every detail of the story or spoil something I haven’t verified. What we can say for certain is that Volume 27 offers more of Senku’s scientific adventures beyond the main ending, and the new project will bring at least part of that material to the screen.

And honestly, the idea of seeing Senku tackle another seemingly impossible scientific challenge is exciting enough on its own! The chapter titles certainly make me curious about what comes next.

As we discussed earlier, the official announcement came with a promotional video featuring newly recorded dialogue from Senku Ishigami himself. The video revisits the scientific inventions and technological advancements created by Senku and his companions throughout their journey before revealing the title of the new project, Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING.

We also get to hear Senku’s familiar voice again, including his energetic lines that remind us why we love this character so much. One of the phrases is often 「唆るぜ、これは！」 (Sosoru ze, kore wa!) translated as “This is exhilarating!” 🔬

And honestly, it’s wonderful to see the creators celebrating the franchise while giving fans another opportunity to revisit the world they brought to life.

I don’t think I need to explain how popular Dr. STONE has become among anime fans. The main story has reached its conclusion, and many viewers have already said goodbye to Senku’s journey. So, hearing that another project is in production is exciting news for anyone who wants to see more of the Kingdom of Science!

Now, let’s move on to the next big question.

Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING: Release Date, Format, and Production Status

So, when is Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING coming out?

Well, here’s the simple answer: we don’t know yet! 😅

My Personal Thoughts

Well, I’m not going to lie about it—I was genuinely excited when I heard this announcement! 😆

I knew there was one extra volume left after the main story, but I didn’t know exactly what it would cover. And now, it looks like we’re getting another chance to explore the scientific adventures of Senku and the Kingdom of Science!

As I mentioned earlier, one of the things I’m most curious about is the time machine. We got a glimpse of Senku’s ambition toward the end of the main story, and honestly, I really want to know how that storyline will continue.

As far as I understand it, Senku wants to develop a time machine to send a message into the past and potentially prevent the catastrophe that turned humanity to stone in the first place. But how will he accomplish that? What will happen if he succeeds? And what kind of scientific challenges will he face along the way?

There are so many questions, and I genuinely want to see where this journey leads!

Of course, we still don’t know whether the newly announced anime project will adapt the time-machine storyline. But if we eventually get to see it animated, that would be incredibly exciting for me.

well we all followed Senku’s journey from the very first season all the way through the conclusion of the television anime. We’ve watched him rebuild civilization, overcome seemingly impossible challenges, and use science to change the world. Now, the possibility of seeing another chapter of his journey has me looking forward to what’s next.

I’m genuinely excited to see what Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING will bring us. Let’s see how this new project turns out!
