Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Anime Addictive!

Today, we’re introducing something new: Sunday Special, a weekly segment where we’ll look back at the biggest news and developments from across the anime industry over the past seven days.

From anime announcements and adaptations to manga releases, light novel updates, publishing news, and exciting cast announcements, we’ll do our best to bring you the stories that matter most, all in one place.

Our goal is to explore different corners of the industry, celebrate the creators and voice actors who bring these stories to life, and help you catch up on the news you might have missed during the week.

Since this is our very first Sunday Special, we’re still finding our rhythm. We’ll keep improving the format as we go, and we hope you’ll enjoy joining us on this journey!

So, without further ado, let’s begin with our first segment.

Update From Anime Side

Let’s kick things off with our very first segment of the Sunday Special, where we’re going to talk about what’s been happening in the anime industry over the past week!

From exciting new anime announcements to adaptations we’ve been waiting for, theatrical release dates, and other interesting developments, we’re going to try our best to cover the major news you shouldn’t miss. 📰✨

86 EIGHTY-SIX Announces a New Anime Project!

Okay, 86 EIGHTY-SIX fans, we finally have something new to talk about! 👀❤️

A new anime project has been announced, and naturally, this has given fans something to look forward to. But before anyone gets too excited about a second season, let’s be clear about one thing: the announcement hasn’t confirmed that it’s Season 2.

What we know so far is that more information is expected in early 2027. As for what the new project actually is? Well, we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out!

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next, but let’s not jump to conclusions just yet.

We’ve already covered this announcement in a dedicated blog, so if you want to know more, you can check it out here! 👇

Date A Live F: Last Date — The Countdown Begins!

Moving on to another familiar franchise, we have some news for Date A Live fans! ❤️

After following this franchise for so long, it’s exciting to see another major update finally from Kadokawa. The upcoming theatrical project, Date A Live F: Last Date, has revealed its Japanese theatrical release date: March 26, 2027! 🎬

Now, there’s still plenty we don’t know about the project, so we’ll have to wait for further announcements before jumping to conclusions about what comes next.

Still, it’s another update worth keeping an eye on, especially for fans who’ve been following the franchise for years, just like me 😅

We’ve written a separate blog covering this announcement, too. If you’re curious about the details, you know where to go! 😉

Nue’s Exorcist Is Getting an Anime Adaptation!

Okay, here’s another manga getting its chance to shine on the anime screen! 🔥

Nue’s Exorcist has officially received a television anime adaptation announcement, and the series is scheduled to arrive in Japan in Summer 2027!

The anime’s production is being handled by Studio HIBARI. However, we don’t have an exact premiere date just yet, so we’ll have to wait for more information. 👀

For those hearing about this series for the first time, the story follows Gakuro Yajima, a high school student who can see supernatural beings known as Gen’yō. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Nue, a mysterious supernatural being.

Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? I think the same. 👀 Well, if supernatural stories are your thing, this is one adaptation you might want to keep on your radar!

We’ve already covered the announcement in more detail, so make sure to check out our blog below. ❤️

Yumene Connect Manga Is Getting a TV Anime!

And guess what? We have another adaptation announcement! 😆

Yumene connect has officially been announced for a television anime adaptation, with the news arriving on October 14, 2026.

The anime will be produced by STUDIO MASSKET, with Sōta Yokote directing. The announced main cast includes Yūsuke Kobayashi as Yūhi Takamiya and Yū Sasahara as Nano.

However, there’s one thing we’re still waiting for: a premiere date! 📅

For now, we have the adaptation announcement and some initial production details, but we’ll have to wait for more updates to learn when we can actually watch it.

Happy Kanako’s Killer Life Is Getting an Anime!

And now, let’s talk about Happy Kanako’s Killer Life! 👀

If you’ve heard of this series before, you might already know that it has received a live-action adaptation. But now, there’s another version to look forward to: a television anime adaptation scheduled for April 2027! 🎉

The story follows Kanako Nishino, an office worker who’s had enough of her difficult workplace and decides to look for another job.

But here’s where things get interesting. Instead of finding the peaceful working life she wanted, Kanako somehow ends up becoming a professional assassin! 😭😂

Imagine leaving a terrible office job, hoping for a fresh start, only to land in an entirely different kind of nightmare. Talk about an unexpected career change!

The contrast between Kanako’s ordinary working-life struggles and her new profession is what makes the premise so intriguing. I’m definitely curious to see how this story will translate into an anime!

We’ve already covered the announcement in detail, including the information revealed about the adaptation. So, if you want to know more, check out our dedicated blog ! ❤️

From the new 86 EIGHTY-SIX project to the latest Date A Live theatrical update, and from Nue’s Exorcist and Yumene connect to Happy Kanako’s Killer Life, we’ve had plenty to talk about this week!

Of course, we’re only getting started. There may be other announcements that we haven’t covered, and that doesn’t mean those stories aren’t important. We’re still figuring out the best way to bring you the biggest updates without making this weekly roundup unnecessarily long.

So, tell us in the comments! 💬 Did we miss an anime announcement you think deserves a mention? Let us know which stories you’d like us to cover, and we’ll keep your suggestions in mind for future editions!

❤️ More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers has returned from its hiatus, and we’ve already covered the news in a dedicated article. 🎉

That’s All for This Week’s Manga Updates!

And that’s everything we have for this week’s manga roundup! ❤️

Of course, we’ll continue keeping an eye out for more announcements, new manga launches, and chapter-release information. If there’s a series you think we should cover in next week’s edition, let us know in the comments! 💬

And now, let’s move on to one of my personal favourite sections! ❤️ The Light Novel Updates! What new updates do we have from the light novel universe this week? Let’s find out!

Updates from the Light Novel Universe

Well, now we’re moving on to one of my personal favourite sections: Light Novel Updates! ❤️📚

I’m not going to lie, I couldn’t find as many major light novel announcements as I would have liked this week. Maybe I missed a few updates along the way, so if there’s any important light novel news that I haven’t covered, I sincerely apologise! 😅

And please, let me know in the comments where you usually get your light novel news from. I’d love to discover more reliable sources so we can bring you even better coverage in future editions of our Sunday Special!

That said, the updates we did find are definitely worth talking about. So, let’s get into them! 👀

My House Cat Became the World’s Strongest?! Gets an English Digital License!

Let’s start with an announcement from October 14!

Seven Seas Entertainment announced an English digital license for My House Cat Became the World’s Strongest?!, a light novel written by Tamaki Yoshigae and illustrated by LINO.

Yep, the moment I heard that title, there was only one thing that came to my mind: MEOW! 🐱😂 Meow jokes aside, let’s talk about the actual story!

The story follows an ordinary man whose beloved cat gains extraordinary abilities and grows into something far more powerful than an ordinary feline. 🐈✨

Now, I don’t know about you, but an overpowered cat sounds like a pretty entertaining premise to me! 😂❤️

And here’s a little personal confession: I’m a huge cat lover myself! Unfortunately, I don’t have a cat where I live, so maybe I can get my cat fix through a light novel instead. At least the cats in fiction can’t refuse to let me pet them! 😭🐱

Since the novel has received an English digital license, it’s definitely one I’ll be keeping an eye on. If you’re a fellow cat lover or enjoy stories featuring unexpectedly powerful characters, this one might be worth checking out!

Fluffy Café in Another World — Volume 2 Gets a Digital Release!

Moving on to our next update, we have another digital release from Seven Seas Entertainment!

Fluffy Café in Another World, Volume 2, was scheduled for digital release on October 15.

The title alone sounds like something that could be perfect for readers who enjoy cosy fantasy settings and fluffy creatures. ☕🐾

If you’ve already read the first volume, this could be a good opportunity to continue the story!

Reborn as an Aristocratic Scoundrel — Volume 1 Gets a Digital Release!

And finally, we have one more digital release to discuss!

Reborn as an Aristocratic Scoundrel, I Broke the Game and Mastered Magic Beyond Limits!, Volume 1, was also scheduled for digital release on October 15.

Okay, I’m not going to lie, that title is quite a mouthful! 😂 But if you enjoy fantasy stories involving aristocrats, game-like settings, and characters who become incredibly powerful, this might be one to add to your reading list.

As always, whether a title catches your attention depends on your personal taste, but it’s great to have more English digital releases available for light novel readers!

That’s All for This Week’s Light Novel Updates!

And that’s everything we have for this week’s light novel segment!

We covered an English digital licensing announcement and two digital releases. It might not be the biggest week for light novel news, but there are still some interesting titles here.

Now, I want to hear from you! 💬

Have you read any of these novels, or are any of them on your reading list? Which one sounds the most interesting to you? And if you follow Japanese light novel news regularly, please share your favourite sources with us. Your suggestions could help us improve this segment in future editions!

And with that, let’s move on to our final segment of this week’s Sunday Special: Updates from the Cast! 🎙️✨

Updates from the Cast

Well, I think we all know that anime isn’t just about moving pictures, beautiful artwork, or an interesting story. ❤️

Behind every anime we watch, there are so many talented people working together to bring those stories and characters to life. And honestly, we don’t always give them the attention they deserve!

From voice actors who give our favourite characters their voices and emotions to directors who shape the story on screen, music composers who create those unforgettable soundtracks, character designers who give each character their unique appearance, and countless other talented people working behind the scenes — every single one has a role to play in making an anime what it is today. 🎬✨

Anime isn’t created by just one writer, one director, or one animation studio. It takes the combined efforts of many people, each contributing their own skills, creativity, and hard work.

And that’s exactly why we’ve decided to introduce this special segment! Here, we’ll highlight some of the major announcements and updates involving the talented people behind our favourite anime, whether they’re voice actors, directors, composers, or other members of the creative team.

Because, at the end of the day, we shouldn’t just appreciate the characters we see on our screens. We should also appreciate the people who help bring them to life. ❤️

So, before we get into today’s updates, let’s take a moment to appreciate all those talented individuals who work behind the scenes. Without their dedication and creativity, the anime we love wouldn’t be the same.

Let’s start with our first update, coming from the upcoming anime Bless!

Kōki Uchiyama Joins the Cast of Bless!

Voice actor Kōki Uchiyama has been announced as the voice of Akiharu Nakano in the upcoming television anime, which is scheduled to premiere in Japan in January 2027. The announcement was accompanied by a new character promotional video! 🎬

For those who might not be familiar with the series, Bless follows aspiring makeup artists and models as they pursue their dreams in the world of beauty and fashion.

It’s always exciting to see another talented voice actor join an upcoming project, and we’ll get to hear Uchiyama bring Akiharu to life when the anime arrives next year!

Shōya Ishige Joins The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom!

Moving on to our next update, we have news from The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom! 👀

Shōya Ishige has joined the cast as Johann, a knight who travels alongside Insomniac in this currently airing fantasy anime. The announcement was made on October 15.

The anime is currently airing in Japan and is also available on Amazon Prime Video internationally. So, depending on your region, you may already be able to watch the series!

If you’re following this fantasy adventure, keep an eye out for Johann’s appearance in the story. It’s always nice to discover new characters and the voice actors bringing them to life!

Voice Actors Kōji Yusa and Miyari Nemoto Announce Their Marriage!

Now, here’s some lovely personal news! ❤️💐

Japanese voice actors Kōji Yusa and Miyari Nemoto announced their marriage on October 15, 2026.

You might recognise Kōji Yusa as the voice of Gin Ichimaru from Bleach, while Miyari Nemoto is known for voicing Ruri Tanigawa in Ruri Rocks. 🎙️

It’s wonderful to see two people from the same industry begin a new chapter together. Although we usually recognise voice actors through the characters they portray, they also have their own lives and happy moments worth celebrating.

From all of us at Anime Addictive, congratulations to Kōji Yusa and Miyari Nemoto! ❤️ We wish them a happy life together filled with love, understanding, and beautiful memories.

Nichika Ōmori Announces Her First Pregnancy!

And finally, let’s end this segment on a particularly happy note! 🥹❤️

Japanese voice actress Nichika Ōmori has announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, music producer Yunomi. She shared the wonderful news on October 15, 2026.

Honestly, it’s always lovely to hear happy news like this from the people who bring so many of our favourite anime characters to life. Behind the voices we recognise are real people, with families, dreams, and special moments of their own.

From all of us at Anime Addictive, we want to send Nichika Ōmori and Yunomi our heartfelt congratulations! 💐

May this new chapter bring them plenty of happiness, love, good health, and beautiful memories as they prepare to welcome their little one into the world.

Congratulations to the happy couple, and we wish their growing family all the very best! ❤️🌸

My Personal Thoughts

Well, everyone, that’s a wrap for our very first weekly roundup!

So, how was it? Let me know in the comments!

Honestly, this was one of the bigger blogs I’ve written, and I tried my best to cover as much as I could. I’m not going to lie — the idea of starting a new weekly segment had been on my mind for a while, and I finally decided to give it a shot!

I already had some of the major stories in mind that I wanted to cover, so I gathered the information, put everything together, and tried to bring you the week’s biggest updates in one place.

I really hope you enjoyed reading it! ❤️

And trust me, creating this kind of roundup takes much more time and effort than you might expect. Finding the stories, checking the information, deciding what deserves coverage, and putting everything together into one blog isn’t as easy as it looks. 😅

But I wanted to try something new for Anime Addictive, and here we are!

Now, the big question is: Should we continue this segment every Sunday? 👀

I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts. Your support and feedback will help us improve this format and make future editions even better.

One more thing! I’ve been calling this segment Sunday Special, but honestly, the name feels a little generic to me. 😂

So, I’d love to hear your suggestions!

What should we call this weekly anime industry roundup? Something catchy, memorable, and uniquely Anime Addictive!

Drop your ideas in the comments. Who knows? Maybe one of your suggestions will become the official name of this segment! ❤️

Tell Us What You Think!

Before we wrap up our thoughts, I’d love to know a few things from you:

• Which news story interested you the most this week?
• Was there any major announcement we missed?
• Which segment did you enjoy the most: anime, manga, light novels, or cast updates?
• What would you like us to cover in future editions?
• And most importantly, should we continue this weekly roundup?

For me, you probably already know my favourite category. 😏📚 I’m a light novel lover!

But what about you? Are you more interested in anime, manga, or light novels? Let me know in the comments!

And before I finish, I want to congratulate Ōmori-san once again on her pregnancy. ❤️

Sensei, from all of us at Anime Addictive, we wish you and your family happiness, good health, and lots of beautiful memories as you prepare to welcome your little one.

Congratulations once again!

Thank you so much for reading our first weekly roundup. I hope you enjoyed this new format, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts. ❤️
