Hey Enju fans, I have great news for you. You can’t believe it, and honestly, I can’t believe it that much either when I saw this.
But…
Yep, Black Bullet is really returning. Or, more accurately, it’s rebooting and taking the story in a new direction.
Yes, this wasn’t just a rumor, but an official announcement from KADOKAWA Corporation, which is the publisher of Black Bullet. They have confirmed that Black Bullet is returning after 12 years.
With a new name: Black Bullet: New World Order.
But before any of you get confused, let me make one thing clear:
We are talking about the light novel here, not a new anime season. 😅
The original Black Bullet light novel series, written by Shiden Kanzaki and illustrated by Saki Ukai, is officially restarting with the new title Black Bullet: New World Order. KADOKAWA’s Dengeki Bunko announced that the new series will begin publication in November 2026, with two books releasing simultaneously each month for four consecutive months. By the way, Dengeki Bunko is also KADOKAWA’s light-novel publishing imprint.
And honestly, the fact that both the original author and illustrator are also returning makes this announcement even more interesting.
What Is Black Bullet?
Well, for those who might not know about Black Bullet and are wondering what this is, or for those who have watched it and just want a little refresh of their memory, that’s all this section is for.

Black Bullet is a series set in the near future, where humanity has lost its battle against a parasitic organism known as Gastrea.
Yep, it is a sci-fi and action-based series, but it isn’t just that. There are many different elements throughout the story that make Black Bullet much more than just an action series.
Humanity has been pushed into a much smaller territory and is struggling to survive, because, well… Gastrea are basically everywhere.
The story follows the main character, Satomi Rentaro, a young member of the Civil Security Organization who specializes in fighting Gastrea. He has many mysteries surrounding him despite looking like a normal person. When you watch the anime, slowly you will understand that he is not just a normal Civil Security member. You will understand what I mean, and you will also discover many of the secrets surrounding Rentaro himself and the world. The story has quite a few things going on, so I think you’ll find it interesting.
And then there is another character who plays a very important role in the story, and that is Rentaro’s partner, Enju Aihara.
Well, it would not be wrong to consider her the second MC and a very important character in the anime. She is actually my favorite character in the entire story. Well, back to the point,
Enju is a young Cursed Child who possesses special abilities and fights alongside Rentaro.

Now, you might be wondering:
What exactly is a Cursed Child?
Well, I’m not going to explain everything here because that would get into spoiler territory. 😅 If you want to know more about that, I would recommend watching the anime and experiencing the story yourself.

The story follows Rentaro and Enju as they work together and fight against Gastrea, but Black Bullet also has some pretty dark themes, along with action, drama, mystery, and science-fiction elements.
And actually, we have already covered Black Bullet before in an anime review a long time ago.
So, if you’ve already watched the anime and want to see my opinion on it, you can check out our old review. It is an older review, but you might still enjoy it. And who knows? I might do a new review of Black Bullet in the future as well. 👀
But anyway, back to the topic.
The original light novel began publication in 2011, while its TV anime adaptation aired in 2014. KADOKAWA’s announcement confirms that the original series began publication in 2011 and that the anime aired in 2014.
And now, 12 years after the final original light novel volume was published, the story is getting another chance.

Black Bullet Is Finally Returning
If you know Black Bullet, then you probably already understand why this announcement is such a big deal.
The series has been away for around 12 years, and now it is finally restarting in November 2026.
According to the announcement, Black Bullet: New World Order will launch in November 2026, with two volumes being released every month for four consecutive months.
Yep.
Two volumes per month. 😶
That means we’re getting eight volumes across four months, which is honestly a pretty crazy schedule.
But the release schedule isn’t even the most interesting part.
What Is Black Bullet: New World Order?
So, what exactly is New World Order?
Based on the original Black Bullet series, author Shiden Kanzaki has personally revised and expanded the text for this new release.
The first few volumes will still follow the original story.
Volumes 01–03, Parts 1 and 2, will follow the original story arc.
But things are going to change after that.
Starting from Volume 04 (Part 1), the narrative will begin to diverge from the original story and move in an entirely new direction.
And honestly, that’s the part that caught my attention the most.
Because this means Black Bullet: New World Order isn’t simply bringing the old story back exactly as it was.
There is actually something new waiting for readers.

12 Years Later…
Well, 12 years have passed since the last volume of the original light novel was released.
Well, the original Black Bullet light novel series began in 2011. The seventh and final original volume was released in April 2014. And after that, there wasn’t any new volume released from the original series for many years.
And from 2014 to this point, it has been around 12 years.
So, when we are talking about 12 years, it also doesn’t mean that the story itself was completed and then intentionally left for 12 years.
The original light novel simply stopped receiving a new volume after Volume 7, and that remained inactive.
Well, it wasn’t completed at all. It was in between, which made people wait, and the wait became so long that it turned into 12 years itself.
But now, after all these years, Black Bullet has finally come back.
And personally, I think it is something you don’t see every day.
A series can be away for more than a decade, and then suddenly return with the original author coming back to revise, expand, and rework the material, while also taking the story in a new direction.
That’s what makes this return so interesting to me.
We’re not simply getting the old story again, publishing it, and calling it a day.
The material is being revised and expanded, and the story will eventually be taken somewhere different.
When Will It Be Released?
Well, let me tell you the sequence and how the new series will be going.
There was a basic schedule announced, and to be honest, I will try to give you this as simple or as easy to understand as possible.
Two volumes will be released every month.
Volumes 01 to 03 will just follow the original story.
The release will continue for four consecutive months, which means that every month you will see at least two volumes.
And the new story will be starting from Volume 04.
The text will be personally revised and expanded by the author, Shiden Kanzaki.
So yep, that’s what they said.
And to be honest, I was getting more excited about what will happen after Volume 04.
Well, I think it’s not only me, but every other fan who has been following the series wanted to know what would happen next.
I knew that.
Well, that’s aside.
And after waiting for 12 years, our sensei decided to give us eight volumes in four months.
It wasn’t only the light novel release that was announced.
There is also something for the anime fans. The original Black Bullet anime will receive a full marathon broadcast on ABEMA on October 3, 2026, giving fans a chance to watch the series again before the new books begin releasing. After the broadcast, the anime will also be available for free for two weeks but olny for japen .😅

My Thoughts
Be honest, I wanted to talk about this.
Well, not gonna lie, when I got this news, I had just woken up in the morning, okay?
And my head was already heavy because of my daily blog.
I had just woken up, was brushing my teeth, and I was using my phone at the same time. Then I just saw the news.
And to be honest here, when I first heard about it, I thought it was just a fake hoax, just a rumor.
But I was also confused. Black Bullet wasn’t that famous among many others, at least as much as I know about it, especially in my country.
And I was like, why not just try to verify it?
And when I verified it, I was also shocked.
Like, literally, bro, you are actually making this. 😭
Well, I’m not going to lie about that, but Black Bullet is one of the series which helped to make Anime Addicted.
I can’t lie about that part, and I’ve said it multiple times.
There were only a few anime which, because of them, Anime Addicted exists.❤️
Well, Black Bullet is one of the franchises or series which I started following in my very early days.
So yeah, it has a very personal connection to me, and I really like the story.
I personally adore the character of Enju, okay?
I personally love Kisara Tendou’s character. 😅
I mean, even though she is cold, I still like her character.
Why? 😅
Because I think she’s one of the coolest female characters I have ever seen.
She is one of the very coolest characters, or at least right now, as much as I remember in my mind.
She’s a very good character.
Our main character, Rentaro, is literally a good character as well. His actions were literally…
I was crying, not gonna lie. I had tears when Kayo Senju requested Rentaro in this anime. I still remember it. Okay, I am not going to spoil it.
I still remember every one of the characters.
Even though I have a very bad habit of not remembering Japanese names.
And this is also one of the anime which introduced me to the dark theme.
So I am very personally attached to this, and I personally wanted to see this coming back.
I am also going to follow the light novel, as much as it is possible if it comes in English.
And I will try to cover it as well.
I’m not going to say that much anymore.
I gave it what my heart wanted to say about this series, so I just said it.
When I say that the 12-year wait happened, it doesn’t mean only you guys waited.
I waited too. ❤️
