Well, hello. Today is Wednesday, which means it’s time for another episode review. As I promised, we are continuing this series, and today we’re going to review the third episode.
I’m not going to lie, I haven’t forgotten about this series, and I’m not going to leave it halfway. I decided that I’m going to continue reviewing every episode up to the 12th episode. Whether I like an episode or not, I’m going to give you my honest opinion.
Why? Because that’s why you’re here—to read my honest thoughts about the episode. And honestly, I’m starting to like this anime as well, so I’m definitely interested in seeing where it goes.

I don’t know why, but Google still isn’t indexing our episode reviews properly. But people are still coming to our site and reading them, and honestly, that’s something I really appreciate. To everyone who has been reading these reviews and following along with me, my heart goes out to you. 
And before we start, I’m not going to explain everything about the anime again. If you’re reading an episode review, you probably already know what the anime is about. I also covered the world-building and the basic story in the Episode 1 review, so I’m not going to repeat all of that in every episode.
So, with that out of the way, let’s get directly into the review.
Alert Before We Start Reviewing
Well, before we continue, just a small warning from me.
If you haven’t watched this anime yet and you were planning to watch it later, then please leave this blog immediately. Because from this point, the entire episode is going to be revealed, including the previous episode’s spoilers and many spoilers from the series.
So that’s why I’m requesting you: please leave now if you don’t want spoilers, because this content contains spoilers.
Quick Flashback: What Happened in Episode 2?
Well, we’re not going into too much detail because we already covered it. You can go and read our Episode 2 review if you want the full details.
So, as a quick reminder, what happened in Episode 2?
Well, the simple version is that Reirin was exiled from the main area and was relocated to a stone house that hadn’t been used for decades. There, we were also introduced to a new character, Leelee, who is a personal court lady for Keigetsu.
And no, not that Lily. It’s Leelee.
In the last episode, we also found out that the real Keigetsu wasn’t always good to Leelee. We also learned that Leelee was bullied a lot because of her lineage, as she is the daughter of a dancer and comes from a very low rank of society.
We also got to see Leelee’s background and the history between her and the real Keigetsu.
Meanwhile, the current Keigetsu, who is actually Reirin in her body right now, was enjoying her new life. She didn’t really care about being exiled. She was going outside, doing whatever she wanted, and even enjoying farming and other stuff.
One of the interesting things about this part of the story is how much Reirin enjoys having Keigetsu’s body. Because of her fragile body in her previous life, she was always treated as someone who needed to be protected. But now, she doesn’t have to live like that anymore.
Meanwhile, Leelee was getting too fed up with the real Keigetsu. Of course, she doesn’t know about the body switch, so all of her anger toward Keigetsu still exists. She wanted to leave.
But because she was Keigetsu’s court lady, she was also exiled along with her. She was already used to being harassed by other court ladies because of her lineage, and now things had become even worse.
Then, a higher court lady from the Kin Clan tried to make Leelee an offer. Leelee was agitated about it, but she eventually accepted the offer because she needed it.
What happened after that? Well, you can go and read our Episode 2 review to find out. I’m not going into more detail than that here.
And that’s how Episode 2 ended—with Leelee crying because of the harassment from the other court ladies.
Well, that’s our quick Episode 2 flashback.
One Important Clarification Before We Continue
Before we continue, there’s one thing I need to clarify because this can get really confusing.
Currently, in the story, we’re referring to Keigetsu as Reirin, and Reirin as Keigetsu, because of the body switch.
So, when I say “Keigetsu,” I’m talking about Reirin who is currently in Keigetsu’s body.
And when I say “Reirin,” I’m talking about Keigetsu who is currently in Reirin’s body.
I’m going by their current bodies, not who they actually are.
In simple words:
Our MC is now Keigetsu.
My Team Member: It’s too confusing.
My Team Member: And By the way, isn’t that new character, Leelee, you fell for?
Me: …
My Team Member: …
Me: Hey, you didn’t leave yet?
Episode 3: What’s New? — The Highlight
Well, in Episode 3, not a lot really happened.
I thought Episode 2 was already a very slow-burning episode, but Episode 3 is even slower. There are very few major things happening, while most of the episode is just normal everyday stuff that I can cover in a few words.
That’s why I’m separating this episode review into two sections.
So, let’s start with the first section.
The episode started very simply, just as you would expect. Episode 2 ended during the night, so Episode 3 obviously starts in the morning, with Keigetsu waking up and heading outside to take care of her farming and everything.
And her first line was basically:
Today, the weather is great for farming.
Yep. That is our main character.
That’s what we see in the first few seconds of the episode.
By this point, around four days have passed since Keigetsu was relocated. And during these four days, we can see just how happy she is with her new life.
Keigetsu was happily enjoying the fact that she could finally do hard work without having to worry about fainting or her body giving up on her. Her current body isn’t as fragile as her real body used to be.
And that’s how the episode starts—with Keigetsu enjoying her farming and, more importantly, enjoying her freedom.
Well, not going to lie, if I got a chance to do nothing and just live a quiet life, doing nothing but farming and enjoying the silence, then maybe I would be the same as her.
Not running around after anime girls.
My Team Member: Bro, your emotions were showing.
Me: Oh… sorry.
Well, let’s get back to the topic.
Where were we?
Yeah, Keigetsu was enjoying her freedom.
She was basically telling herself that she could do whatever she wanted now. She could eat tasty meals without having to cook, she could farm, she could stay awake all night, and she could just enjoy her life.
And then the story continued…
And honestly, almost half of the episode was just Keigetsu farming.
To be honest, it was kind of awesome.
My Team Member: Hey, you said that you only do farming, but you Even know how to farm?
Me: 
If you don’t stop this time, I literally just might kick you out of the office.
Well, back to the topic.
So yeah, that’s basically what we see during the first half of the episode.
And I apologize for my team member.
Meanwhile, Leelee was trying her best to harass Keigetsu.
As we established at the beginning of this episode, around four days had passed since Keigetsu was relocated. That means this was already the fourth day of Leelee trying to make her life difficult.
Back in Episode 2, we learned that Leelee had been told that if she could make Keigetsu’s life difficult, she would have a chance to be taken in by the Kin Clan.
And if you don’t know who the Kin Clan are, they are one of the clans that came from the consort.
Keigetsu was given this offer because, by going somewhere else, Leelee might finally have a better future.
After all, she was still getting harassed because of her lineage. She came from a low-ranking family, and her mother was a dancer, which made things even harder for her.
So Leelee tried everything she could think of.
She gave Keigetsu bugs.
She even tried spreading fertilizer around her.
And I’m using the word “fertilizer” here, but you know what that’s supposed to mean.
But honestly, what else could I expect from Keigetsu?
She wasn’t scared at all.
She was actually enjoying it.
Remember, in Episode 1, she was playing with cockroaches and rats. So what exactly did Leelee expect would happen when she brought bugs to her?
Keigetsu was practically happy about it.
And that’s the irony we’re seeing in this episode.
I mean, as a Man, I sometimes hesitate to even touch those things. I’m scared of them.
But she’s on a completely different level.
And by the way, I’m not being sexist or anything here, okay? When I say “as a Man,” I’m not trying to showcase myself above anyone.
Just a disclaimer for the safe side. 
You know what?
Don’t consider me a man.
Just consider me a Boy.
My Team Member: Out of topic.
Me: Oh, sorry.
Where were we?
Ah, yes—Leelee had been trying to harass Keigetsu for the last four days, and she wasn’t able to do anything.
Leelee was doing her best, but none of her attempts were actually working.
As we know from Episode 2, if Leelee could make Keigetsu’s life difficult, she would get the chance to be taken in by the Kin Clan. And after everything she had gone through because of her low-ranking family and her mother’s background as a dancer, she desperately wanted that chance.
So she kept trying.
She tried giving Keigetsu bugs.
She tried spreading fertilizer.
She tried multiple things.
But Keigetsu wasn’t scared or bothered by any of it.
In fact, she was enjoying herself.
And it’s not like Keigetsu didn’t understand what Leelee was doing. She noticed it. She knew exactly what Leelee was trying to do.
But Leelee simply wasn’t able to harass her at all.
And that’s where Section Two starts.
The Situation Between Keigetsu and Leelee Gets Worse
As I mentioned earlier, Keigetsu already knew that Leelee was trying to harass her, but she wasn’t doing anything about it. She knew what Leelee was trying to do, and eventually, she even confronted her.
Keigetsu basically asked her: “I know you’ve been trying to harass me this entire time, but why are you doing this?”
And Leelee’s answer was very simple.
She said it was because of Keigetsu.
Because of her, Leelee had been outcast. Because of the way Keigetsu had treated her, her life had become even harder.
Leelee basically told her that she was nothing because of Keigetsu. She had always been treated as someone of low birth, and even though she was Keigetsu’s personal court lady, she still ended up receiving the same treatment as Keigetsu—exile.
And that was all because of Keigetsu.
There was more to what Leelee said, but she couldn’t tell Keigetsu everything.
As we already know, Leelee had received an offer from another clan. If she could make Keigetsu’s life difficult, she would have a chance to leave and hopefully have a better future.
Keigetsu wanted to help her. She was trying to understand her situation and even wanted to fix things.
But Leelee told her that she couldn’t do anything.
She pointed out that Keigetsu couldn’t simply make her a higher-ranking court lady. She couldn’t change her position or give her anything that would suddenly change her status.
And to be honest, I understand this part because the hairpin has an important role in the story as things continue.
The Kin Clan had used that hairpin when making their offer to Leelee, and now the same thing came up again.
But the problem was that Keigetsu couldn’t actually do anything.
Why?
Because she was outcast.
Even though she was still a representative of her own clan, she was currently in exile. She didn’t have the authority to promote anyone or change Leelee’s position.
Keigetsu was trying to help her and understand what she was going through, but Leelee became angry and ran away from the storehouse where they were living.
While she was running, she was stopped by the higher court lady from the Kin Clan, who had come to speak with her.
The higher court lady told Leelee that what she had said didn’t sound right.
Why?
Because the rumors said that Leelee was enjoying herself. People believed she was laughing and having a good time.
But Leelee explained that wasn’t true at all.
She had been trying to harass Keigetsu for the entire last four days, but nothing had worked.
And that’s when things started getting worse.
To be honest, this part was actually pretty heartbreaking.
Because Leelee finally began to realize that she was being used by the Kin Clan.
The offer they had given her wasn’t really an offer at all.
It was more like a decision that had already been made for her.
The Kin Clan’s higher court lady then gave her one more chance.
She handed Leelee a dagger and basically told her to go and take Keigetsu’s hair, her ribbon, or even her heart—anything that would prove she had completed what she was asked to do.
But there’s a huge difference between harassing someone and spilling their blood.
Leelee was being pushed toward something much more serious.
And then the higher court lady stopped her and reminded her that if she didn’t do it, she would tell Eagle Eyes that Leelee had stolen her hairpin.
And Leelee knew exactly what would happen after that.
Yep.
That same hairpin that had originally been given to her as part of the offer had now become something that could be used to blackmail her.
And that’s how the situation became even worse.
Leelee basically had only two choices, and neither of them was good.
She was already being spoken about badly because she was the daughter of a dancer. People treated her mother’s profession as if it meant that her only purpose was seducing others. She was also constantly looked down upon because she came from a low-ranking family.
And honestly?
I really hate that part.
I really hate how she was being treated because of her lineage.
Eventually, Leelee reached the point where she took the dagger and tried to attack Keigetsu.
Luckily, Eagle Eyes saw what was happening.
One of the soldiers immediately went to inform the commander, and the commander arrived at the scene.
Leelee tried to attack Keigetsu, but she only managed to cut her hair slightly. Keigetsu was able to dodge the attack and protect herself.
But at the same time, the commander arrived and captured Leelee.
And honestly, what else would you expect?
There is a simple rule here. If you’re inside the empire and you’re within the royal boundaries, bloodshed is forbidden.
It doesn’t matter whether someone is considered a villainous person or anything else. Killing someone within the royal boundaries would still be forbidden.
So the same rule applies here.
Afterward, they questioned Keigetsu about what happened.
And Keigetsu lied.
She said that she had asked Leelee to cut her hair.
The commander basically saw through the lie. He didn’t say it directly, but you could tell he was basically thinking:
“I’m not that stupid.”
But she still gave Leelee a chance.
And that’s how that part of the story ended.
However, there were still some really good gestures happening between Keigetsu and Leelee.
Keigetsu wanted to give something to Leelee as a reward for her loyalty, but she wasn’t able to do it because of her current position.
Still, she genuinely wanted to do something for her.
Eventually, Keigetsu decided to give her clothes that would properly fit her, along with a dark-colored thread—a color that Leelee wasn’t normally allowed to wear.
And this time, Keigetsu was the one giving it to her.
That’s how the episode ended.
Keigetsu wasn’t exactly angry, but she had started to realize that something was wrong.
She now wanted to know who was actually behind everything that had been happening to Leelee.
And that’s where the episode ended.
Okay, My Thoughts
Well, to be honest, there were many funny scenes happening where Keigetsu was just talking about bugs, doing farming, and cleaning. That was actually the fun part of watching this episode.
Okay, and in this episode, we finally see our fool finally understanding that something has changed.
Like, we also see why our— I mean, why the Crown Prince was starting to notice the difference.
By the way, when I say “fool,” I’m talking about our Crown Prince. Why am I calling him a fool? You can go and check out my previous episode review.
Okay, back to the topic.
Yeah, our fool finally started understanding that there was a difference after the incident at the festival. He was starting to notice that something had changed in Reirin.
At the same time, the Eagle-Eye Commander, Shinu, was also noticing a difference in our , Keigetsu.
And we also find out in this episode that our Crown Prince, E-Gyoumei, and our Eagle-Eye Commander, Shinu, are brothers.
Shinu is an illegitimate child of the same father but a different mother, while E-Gyoumei is the Crown Prince.
And to be honest, not going to lie, this whole thing was like, okay, I understand. This is character development. And that was making things more and more interesting.
There are so many things that we might be able to see in the future, and that’s what makes me more and more interested in this story.
Like, first of all, what happened with Leelee was heartbreaking. Okay? I mean, it was too much.
I don’t like what she was doing, but at the same time, she was being blackmailed into doing it.
Why?
Because the hairpin is considered one of the important things in that society, or in this world, you can say.
But if she did anything, it would be a dead end for her as well.
Why?
Because if Keigetsu hadn’t lied and said that Leelee was cutting her hair because she ordered her to do it, then Leelee would have been properly executed for what she did.
And even if she wasn’t executed, she would still have received serious punishment for it.
But luckily, Keigetsu was able to save her by lying.
And now, it looks like our Keigetsu r is going to start taking charge of solving this Shu Clan problem.
I liked this episode, and honestly, it was good.
And to be honest, I’m still not going to hate Leelee for what she did.
She’s still one of my favorite characters.
