Well, today I got some pretty good news for Kimi wa Yotsuba no Clover fans! 🍀

Kimi wa Yotsuba no Clover is officially getting an anime adaptation! The announcement was made by the manga’s creator, Koushi, on September 7, along with a special celebratory illustration.

And not gonna lie, I was actually pretty happy when I saw this announcement. I have only read Chapter 1 of Kimi wa Yotsuba no Clover so far, but I already liked what I read. So seeing that it is now getting an anime adaptation definitely caught my attention. 🍀

What Is Kimi wa Yotsuba no Clover About?

Well, it is a manga, obviously. Its Japanese title is Kimi wa Yotsuba no Clover, also known in English as You Are a Four-Leaf Clover.

It is a manga written and illustrated by Kōshi. It began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Champion in July 2024, and currently has ten volumes in Japan. The series was also nominated for the 11th Next Manga Award in the print category in 2025.

Not gonna lie, that is pretty cool. And to be honest, that also tells me how different the international audience and Japanese audience can be. Well, we will talk about that in another blog. But that’s aside. Back to the point, okay?

And before we continue, whatever I’m telling you here is only based on Chapter 1.

Well, the story follows Uichi, a high school student who was once popular but later became a victim of bullying. When he was younger, he made a promise to his childhood friend, Yotsuha.

Years later, Yotsuha returned to his life, but in a very weird way. I mean, she literally jumped through his window and just appeared there. 😅 And to be honest, there were many things that confused me just from reading Chapter 1. But when I think about it, I feel like there is going to be something that will be revealed later, and that’s what makes me interested.

And I don’t know why, but I can somehow say for sure that she is not just a typical childhood friend. And from her actions, I can also say that she will do whatever it takes to keep him safe and happy.

 

I’ve Only Read Chapter 1, But…

Well, like I said before, I have only read the first chapter so far. well in reality, I had bookmarked this manga a long time ago, and I finally decided to read it. I started reading it yesterday, and at the same time, the author also announced the anime adaptation. 😅

So I’m obviously not going to pretend that I know everything about the manga. 😅 But from that first chapter, I already felt that there was something interesting about the story.

I liked the way the story introduced Uichi and Yotsuha, and that’s honestly enough for me to be interested in seeing where the story goes.

And now that we’re getting an anime adaptation, I’m definitely going to keep an eye on it.

 

When Is the Anime Coming?

Well… that’s the part where we don’t know anything yet. 😅

The anime adaptation has been officially confirmed, but there is currently no announced release date, studio, cast, or production staff. So we’ll have to wait for further information.

But honestly, I’m not in a hurry.

I’ve only read one chapter, so I have plenty of time to catch up with the manga before the anime eventually arrives. 😂

My Personal Thoughts

Well, I’m not gonna lie, I’m actually happy about this announcement.

I only read Chapter 1, but I liked it, and that’s probably one of the reasons this announcement caught my attention more than it normally would.

Now I just want to see how the anime adaptation turns out. Hopefully, we get more information about the studio, staff, cast, and release date soon.
